The summer Music and Movies in the Park event series is an Osseo tradition. This year’s schedule of events was recently approved, and it features seven concerts, five movies, and two educational presentations. Please join the fun on Tuesday evenings in June, July, and August for these all-ages community presentations.

The season kicks off on June 6 with a performance from the popular Teddy Bear Band (all concerts and presentations start at 7:00 pm). On June 13, the Minneapolis Commodores, a barbershop chorus featuring a local member, will perform. On June 20, Snake Discovery provides a presentation and up-close visit with Minnesota reptiles, followed by a screening of the animated film The Wild Life at dusk (films start at approximately 8:30 pm). Local classic rock band Led Penny, featuring Osseo residents and OSH grads, performs on June 27.

There is no event scheduled on July 4–enjoy the holiday! On July 11, The Skally Line presents a unique blend of original songs and local Minnesota history in a performance that’s fun for the whole family. Local musicians with the The Dirty Shorts Brass Band perform on July 18. The following week, join the fun with a 7:00 entertaining and interactive Wise with Waste presentation–courtesy of an OSH grad–followed by the animated film WALL-E.

There is no event scheduled on Night to Unite on August 1; instead, Osseo residents are encouraged to attend a block party with their neighbors. The following week, the Classic Big Band performs. Moana is shown on August 15. Local group Bad Mojo is scheduled for August 22, followed by a special screening of The Lego Batman Movie, presented by Osseo’s own “superhero” members of the Police and Fire Departments. The season concludes on August 29 with a showing of Mighty Ducks.

August 15 serves as the rain date for any concerts rescheduled due to inclement weather.
