The annual Osseo Vintage Foreign Car Show Spring Kickoff event for the InterMarque Vintage Foreign Motorcars series is back in Osseo for 2015! On Saturday, May 16, nearly 40 local vintage foreign car clubs will ascend on downtown Osseo to showcase their unique and one-of-a-kind vehicles. InterMarque is an association of 40 vintage foreign car clubs in the Upper Midwest, most of which are located in the Twin Cities area.
The Osseo event is InterMarque’s Spring Kickoff, opening the car club touring season. The show is limited to vehicles that qualify for the classic status under Minnesota Law, which is any vehicle that is twenty years old or more. There will also be a Modern Classics area as well just like in previous years. All of the car owners will be on hand to talk shop and answer any questions visitors have about their cars.
Some of the makes you’ll be able to check out include Austin-Healey, BMW, Citroen, Jaguar, Lotus, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Triumph, and many more. As we have had in the past, this event also includes a Craft and Vendor Fair located in Boerboom Park (directly across the street from City Hall). The craft fair will bring in over 30 local vendors showcasing a wide range of items. This portion of the event gets bigger and better each year, so be sure to swing by the Park and check it out! The Osseo Lions will also be on hand with their food cart selling treats and refreshments.
This is a FREE event for Osseo residents and visitors and Central Avenue will be closed from 1st Street to 6th Street. The event begins at 10:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM. Residents and visitors are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to local food shelves (C.R.O.S.S. Food Shelf). You can drop off food donation items at City Hall (right next to the event registration tent). City officials also urge residents and visitors to take the opportunity to patron our great local businesses.
Come rain or shine! This is a great fun-for-all-ages event, so we encourage you to bring the whole family to downtown Osseo. We hope to see many of you in downtown Osseo this Saturday, May 16!
Riley Grams, Assistant City Administrator, City of Osseo
